Satellite reception via Astra 3 and the footprint
The Astra 3 satellite (at 23.5 degrees east) broadcasts many Dutch and Flemish TV channels via Canal Digitaal or TV Vlaanderen. To receive these channels, you need a satellite dish that is properly aligned with this satellite.
How does it work?
Your satellite dish picks up the signal from Astra 3. It is important that there is a clear view to the south, so there should be no trees or buildings in the way.
What is the footprint?
The footprint indicates where the satellite signal can be received well. Astra 3 broadcasts over a large part of Europe. Within this area, you will usually have a good and stable signal. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, a 65 cm dish is usually sufficient. If you are further south or north in Europe, you may need to use a larger dish for good reception. See image.
In short
With a well-adjusted dish, you can watch British television via Astra 3 in large parts of Europe. Ideal for holidays!
